Piers Koefoed

Staff Scientist

PhD, Australian National University

Dr. Koefoed’s research focuses on studying non-traditional stable isotopes, primarily potassium, in extraterrestrial materials to help understand the origins of the Solar System. Much of his recent research has surrounded applying the potassium isotope tool to chondritic meteorites, which formed over four and a half billion years ago and represent some of the earliest solids in our Solar System. He is part of Kun Wang's Isotope Cosmochemistry Laboratory.
