Basic geophysical techniques used in exploration and environmental geophysics, emphasizing seismic and electromagnetic methods. Basic theory, field procedures, and interpretation of data. Use of geophysical instruments on field trips, followed by reduction and analysis of acquired data. The lecture is being taught in person (remote welcome), and the lab is 100% in person. Prerequisites: EPSc 353, Phys 191, Math 132; or permission of instructor. Two class hours and one two-hour laboratory a week, and approximately four one-day field trips during the semester.
