How to Apply

We are seeking excellent graduate students to participate in the cutting-edge research being carried out in the department. Our Ph.D. program provides a comprehensive grasp of modern approaches to the study of the earth and other solar system bodies. We welcome students of many different academic backgrounds, including degrees in Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Engineering, etc.

We encourage you to apply for admission early (the online application process begins in early fall). To apply online, please visit the Office of Graduate Studies in Arts & Sciences' for more information or begin the online application process here. Complete applications for admission, including all mandatory supporting documents, are required to ensure full consideration for fall admission.

Please submit all supporting documents through the online application portal. These supporting documents include:

  • Three recommendation letters
  • Statement of purpose*
  • Resume or C.V.
  • Transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate college
  • Test scores* (not required)

 

*The statement of purpose should be submitted under the writing sample requirement on the application

*Please note that the GRE (and TOEFL) College/University code for WU is 6929.   The GRE department code for EEPS is 0806 and the TOEFL department code is 71.
